Wordsmiths in the Round will take place aT the Inaugural Gladstone Theatre Music Festival, March 9 - March 14, 2025, presented by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) and The Gladstone Theatre.

"Wordsmiths in the Round" is an electrifying musical event that brings together six exceptional rappers for an intimate evening of lyrical creativity and storytelling. Over the course of this dynamic showcase, the artists will share the stage, exchanging powerful verses and personal narratives that illuminate their diverse backgrounds and experiences. With each performance, audience members will be drawn into the unique worlds crafted by these talented wordsmiths, celebrating the art of rap as a form of poetic expression and cultural commentary.

Cast & Credits Aspects is one of the most rounded musicians out there, playing everything from blues, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop. Aspects has worked with multiple Grammy award winners opened up for Robert Plant, Jack Johnson, and the Foo Fighters, and has made music with the free nationals, the Wu-Tang Clan and even produced for Wycef Jean.

JHC, born in Gatineau, Quebec, now lives in Ottawa. He's a rapper and sound engineer, drawing inspiration from the '90s hip-hop scene. His work blends old-school vibes with modern production techniques, reflecting his dual roles in music. / JHC, né à Gatineau, Québec, vit maintenant à Ottawa. King Kimbit is a literary Hip-Hop artist based on unceded Algonquin territory, passionate about empowering youth, community care, and sharing love through writing, reciting, and the abolition of punitive, carceral institutions. In 2017 King released Life Lessons Poetically and is currently creating her sophomore album, Healing Trauma From The Projects.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Seiiizi is an Afro-Carribean MC DJ and Producer. DJaying of Diasporic Musical Genre Following her first SoundCloud releases in 2015 Seiiizi Has Performed As a Rapper and DJ at various festivals and concerts in the capital region. With collectives Quata Quata and Timekode - She aims to create a distinct musical selection by incorporating styles of various music of the diasporas and Hip-Hop.
