King Kimbit and Cap City Cyphers at Hip Hop Food Drive 2024

Rainbow Bistro, 76 Murray, Ottawa

Celebrating a decade of community impact, Bring Ya Eh Game proudly announces the 10th annual Hip Hop Food Drive (#HHFD), a cross-country initiative to raise donations for food banks in 10 cities across Canada. As food insecurity and inflation hit record highs, this year’s #HHFD offers Canadians a unique way to give back while celebrating the culture of hip-hop.

The following food banks will receive monetary donations: - Family Services of Greater Vancouver - Calgary Food Bank - Flemingdon Food Bank - The London Area Food Bank - Moisson Outaouais - The Door Youth Centre - St. Vincent de Paul Society, - Parker Street Food - Share The Warmth - Saskatoon Food Bank.

The drive will culminate in a special event on December 13, 2024, at Ottawa’s iconic Rainbow Bistro. Doors open at 7:00 pm, and the show promises an exciting lineup, featuring Ottawa OG Cheko7even, Fae, Nambi, King Kimbit, and a special showcase by Cap City Cyphers. Tickets are available at the door for a suggested $10 with a non-perishable food item or $20 without. Taking place just after hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, this concert offers fans a chance to support their community while enjoying an evening of live performances. Award-winning radio host and hip-hop artist Justin Gunderson (aka J Morris) founded the Hip Hop Food Drive to support food banks, a resource he relied upon to get by. Reflecting on the drive’s origin, Gunderson says, “I started the Hip Hop Food Drive 10 years ago to help out communities in need of food donations. I combined my love for hip-hop music with my personal experiences of receiving from food banks, and the food drive was born.” You can donate via e-transfer to hiphopfooddrive@gmail.com or through the food drive’s secure website, www.hiphopfooddrive.com.
